The Princess of Wales spoke with military personnel and their families during a visit to RAF Coningsby. Kate Middleton visited the Royal Air Force site in Lincolnshire on Thursday, October 2, to learn more about the Lincolnshire station.
The Princess became the Royal Honorary Air Commodore in August 2023, and this was her first visit to the site, although her husband Prince William, has visited the base before. During her visit, Kate got an overview of the work at the site, and learned more about how it is one of only two Quick Reaction Alert fighter stations in the UK.
She also visited the Typhoon Training facility, where she tested out one of the simulators. Group Captain, Paul O’Grady, is the Station Commander at RAF Coningsby.
He said: “She seems to be a natural pilot, so we may have to get her qualified and flying a typhoon if she’s up for it.”
Kate then went on to visit a communal space called the ‘Lounge’, where she spoke with a range of personnel at the site, before going outside to speak to more people serving in the military and their families.
