Lincoln bypass shuts after crash causes lorry to flip over
A busy Lincolnshire A-road has been closed this afternoon (Thursday, October 2) following a crash, which has caused a lorry to overturn in the road. The northbound side of the A46 Lincoln bypass has been closed due the overturned lorry and there is now recovery work taking place from the A1434 Newark Road (Hykeham roundabout, Thorpe on the Hill) to Whisby Road (Whisby Road roundabout, Whisby). According to live traffic alerts, the A46 between Whisby Roundabout and Doddington Roundabout is also closed in both directions. Drivers have been warned of delays until this evening and traffic is not being helped by the ongoing works in the area.

National Highways said: “The A46 is closed northbound between the A1434 Hykeham and the B1190 Doddington due to a collision which has resulted in an overturned HGV.”
