
British Transport Police appeal over sexual assault on train
Detectives are investigating a sexual assault that took place on board a train from Lincoln to Grimsby. The British Transport Police is now appealing for witnesses following the incident on Saturday, August 2. A man was travelling with a young girl and her mother on the East Midlands Railway service between 6.30pm and 7.40pm. It is alleged that he took the girl to the toilet and sexually assaulted her. A 41-year-old man from Grimsby has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault. He has been bailed pending investigations. The force is asking for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference number 153 of August 4, 2025.
