Thousands of runners took to the streets over the weekend for the Lincoln Half Marathon. This was Run For All’s first-ever Lincoln Half Marathon, and despite the windy weather on Sunday, October 5, hundreds of spectators and volunteers came out across the city.Participants set off from the Lincolnshire Showground at 9.30am and commenced on a scenic 13.1 mile route via some of Lincoln’s iconic landmarks, such as the castle and cathedral. The race then ended back at the showground, with the race winner Samuel Roberts completing the course with a time of 01:08:06.He was followed by William Strangeway at 01:09:32 and then Lee Mullen with a time of 01:14:45. The first female runner to cross the line was Charlotte Knowles with a time of 01:18:43, followed by Abby Watson at 01:29:32, and Amy Cragg at 01:30:52.The popular event has raised thousands of pounds for a range of local and national charities, such as Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, LIVES, Jerry Green Dog Rescue, Framework and Carers First.Tristan Batley-Kyle, operations director at Run For All, said: “A huge well done to all participants who joined us for today’s Lincoln Half Marathon, a new addition to the Run For All calendar this year and a great success. The enthusiasm and support from participants, volunteers and spectators across the City of Lincoln throughout the day ensured today was enjoyed by all, and saw participants raise thousands for local charities.” Here are 18 photos from the day that show what it was like for runners, spectators and volunteers.
